what I do all day and what I did all day ten years ago

Sometimes our regular life gets interrupted. Or, perhaps, the beautiful moments get interrupted by our regular life. In the celebration of new life and beautiful moments, we welcome this precious darling:

As you can see, we’re all celebrating. That’s why red ball gowns. I love them.

I gave a little snapshot of homeschooling, 2020, and what that looks like on the regular.

These days, the rhythm of my life is so different than ten years ago.

Typical day:

  • get up, dressed, make a list, throw laundry in

  • pray together and have coffee

  • breakfast - read to Rosebud

  • do dictation with Rosebud

  • Clean the kitchen or do other kitcheny things while Rosebud does math so that I can help her, which i rarely need to do

  • workout

  • housework or garden

  • lunch - read to Rosebud

  • read or write

  • visit or make phone calls or do shopping or have appointments

  • workout some more or go for a walk

  • make supper

  • watch a documentary or movie or read or talk

  • go to bed

Now. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of all of this. We are regularly have delightful interludes to our day, including but not limited to: visits from grand people, visits from other friends and family, crisis phone calls, prayer requests, going out for coffee, ice cream or dinner, getting a pedicure, giving homeschooling guidance, making videos, podcasting, thinking up yard projects, perusing pinterest for ideas, going to the garden center, thrift shopping.
